Working towards inclusive development: PM Modi at Balasore

Balasore, Odisha: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Thursday, reasserted his government's commitment to ensuring that all regions and states of the country are part of the development journey.

Addressing a massive rally at Balasore, PM Modi said, “Development has to be all round. No part of the nation should be left out of the development journey. Earlier governments thought they run the nation. And we saw the results of such a thought. We believe in Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.”

“My government is for the poor and all our initiatives are aimed at pulling them out of poverty. At the core of our initiatives are the poor and the welfare of the poor,” he said.

Listing out the various schemes run by the government like 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao', 'Janani Surakhya Yojana', the Prime Minister said that his government is working towards ensuring that the girl child gets equal opportunity to learn and grow.

“For the record we are living in the 21st century but at times, our mindset is of 18th century. People celebrate the birth of a son and try to prevent the birth of a girl child...we have to change this situation,” Modi said.

Stressing on the need to include the citizens in nation building, he said, “We want the element of 'Jan Bhagidari' in all areas of governance. Governments and people must work together.”

Waving to the massive crowd, Modi said, “I see a flood of people here and it gives energy to the 'Pradhan Sevak'...we have the support of the people,” he said.

“There is no election, no protest, but still you all have come out here in this heat,” he said.
