Jammu: A man was arrested with 64 pouches of illicit liquor in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said on Monday.
Acting on specific information, a police team yesterday caught a man who was roaming around in suspicious circumstances in Pul Doda area of the district, a police officer said.
When checked, 64 pouches of illicit liquor were recovered from his possession, the officer said, adding that he was arrested on the spot.
The accused has been identified as Mohammad Farooq, a resident of Pul Doda, the official said.
A case under various sections of the Excise Act has been registered against the accused with Doda police and further probe is underway, the officer added.
