PDP calls for state wide Black day

PDP today said it would observe tomorrow as black day throughout Kerala to protest the arrest of their leader Abdul Nasser Madani in the Bangalore blast case.

Thiruvananthapuram: PDP today said it would
observe tomorrow as black day throughout Kerala to protest the
arrest of their leader Abdul Nasser Madani in the Bangalore
blast case.

PDP Working Chairman Punthura Siraj said protest
demonstrations and meetings would be held in different parts
of the state.

Siraj alleged that injustice was done to Madani as he was
arrested and taken to Bangalore while he was preparing to
surrender before a magistrate court in the state. The case
was fabricated with an objective to destroy Madani and
his institution, he said.

A large number of PDP workers protested in front of the
main gate of the airport here when Madani was brought from
his camp at Anwarassery in Kollam for being taken to
Bangalore.

Talking to reporters at the airport, Madani said that
PDP workers should not create a law and order situation
in connection with his arrest. `No one should try to create
communal divide over the issue,` he added.

Police personnel were deployed in large numbers at the
airport as part of security arrangements.

Madani was shifted to a Police jeep while on his way from
Anwarassery to Thiruvananthapuram,as the vehicle in which
he was brought broke down on the way.

Madani would be taken to Bangalore in a private airline
flight.
