Lucknow, July 14: The All India Muslim Personal Law Board today denied Kanchi Sankaracharya's statement that a mediator was still negotiating with the board on his behalf
discussing a solution to the Ayodhya issue.
"The reports appearing in a section of the press in this
regard are completely baseless," AIMPLB spokesman Dr S Q R
Iliyas told from New Delhi.
"The board is not in touch with the seer nor has it
authorised any one to speak to him in this regard," Iliyas
said.
Reports quoting the Kanchi seer said that though he was
not in direct contact with the board, there was a negotiator
doing the job on his behalf.
Board sources here also said that there was no contact
with the Kanchi Sankaracharya after the July six meeting of
its working committee in which his proposals were rejected.
