Annual reports to give details of employment of persons with disabilities

The annual reports of all central government ministries will need to give details of employment of persons with disabilities in their organisation or establishment, the government said.

New Delhi: The annual reports of all central government ministries will need to give details of employment of persons with disabilities (PwDs) in their organisation or establishment, the government said on Wednesday.

The move comes in the backdrop of a recommendation by the Lok Sabha Standing Committee on Social Justice and Empowerment.
The Committee had recommended that annual reports of ministries, departments or public sector undertakings, should invariably give data on the percentage employment of PwDs in their organisation or establishment in keeping with the policy of three percent reservation in government jobs for such persons.
"All the ministries, departments or PSUs, etc are requested to take necessary action," the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) said in an office memorandum to secretaries of central government ministries.
