Nasik, Jan 15: A local court today rejected the bail
plea of suspended officials of India Security Press -- general
manager Ganga Prakash Choudhari and works manager Mahendra
Singh - arrested in connection with the multi-crore fake stamp
paper scam.

Additional sessions and district judge A K Gunjotikar
rejected the bail plea on grounds that the allegations and
charges levelled against the duo by CBI are serious and have
caused a bad effect on the country's economy, CBI counsel A K
Singh. The two accused were not brought to the court.

Advocates Ashok Kale and G Daulatrao Ghumare, working on
behalf of Choudhari and Mahendra Singh respectively, said they
would take a decision whether to appeal in Mumbai High Court
after studying the order.

Argument process by the three advocates was completed in
the court yesterday.Earlier, Choudhari and Mahendra Singh were remanded to
judicial custody till January 27 by the court on January 13 in
connection with the multi-crore fake stamp paper scam. CBI, in its FIR, has alleged that Choudhari met Telgi in Mumbai in 1998, accepted costly wrist watches from him as
gifts and also sold stamp printing machinery to the kingpin as scrap without dismantling it. Mahendra Singh allegedly helped Telgi to take out the machinery.

Meanwhile, Singh also informed that prime accused in the
scam, Abdul Karim Telgi is likely to be produced in the
court on February 11 as Nasik court had issued a production
warrant to the superintendent of jail, Bangalore.
