New Delhi, Aug 02: Bharatiya Kisan Union (Ambawata) today asked the Centre and state governments to give interest free loans to farmers and extend concessions in line with those give to corporates.
Addressing a rally organised here, BKU (Ambawata)
president Rishipal Ambawata said the governments should take
steps to ensure that same concessions be given to those taking
farm loans as are being given to industrial houses by a
special notification of the Reserve Bank of India.

Ambawata said small farmers holding less than five acres
of land should be given free electricity and water and subsidy
on fertilisers and seeds.

"The BKU totally opposes the provisions of WTO, which
attempts to impose the monopoly of developed nations on
Indian farmers," he added.

The banks should not be authorised to mortgage land of
farmers against loans taken for tractors. At present the banks
mortgage eight acres of land against the loan granted for the
purchase of a tractor.
