Deputy Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen Bhandari retires

New Delhi, Feb 01: Deputy Chief of Army Staff Lt
General P P S Bhandari retired yesterday after 40 years of
service.

An alumnus of Defence Service Staff College and Royal
College of Defence Studies (UK), Bhandari had held numerous
important command, staff and instructional appointments before
taking over as Deputy Chief in January 2004, an official
release said.

He leaves behind a very well chartered modernisation plan
for the Army.
