New Delhi, Oct 30: Describing the Union cabinet's
recent ordinance on operations of metro railways in the
national capital as another instrument of central
"interference", Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today said
she will write to the prime minister to convey the
"displeasure" of the government over the issue.

Pointing out that she was yet to receive the formal
information about the ordinance, Dikshit said, "Once I will
receive the same, I will be in a better position to reply. But
what appears in media reports if that was true then I am going
to write to the prime minister on the issue after getting the
formal intimation."

Emphasising that city government also had a stake in the
metro project, Dikshit said the ordinance was yet another
instrument of interference after the earlier circular
curtailing powers of the duly elected government in the city.

"It is annoying that the Centre passed such an ordinance
without consulting the city government which has the stake in
the whole project," she said.

The Centre and city government are already locked in a
debate over the inauguration issue with the former inviting
Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee for the December 25
inauguration of metro rail and the latter inviting the
president for the purpose.
