PVR Director’s Rare releases another award-winning indie feature ‘Harud’

New Delhi: PVR Director’s Rare banner brings another award winning and critically acclaimed Indie feature HARUD (Autumn) for its movie lovers. The movie has been directed by actor-turned-director/producer Aamir Bashir and co-written & co-produced by National Award winner Shanker Raman.
HARUD (Autumn) is all set for a theatrical release on 27th July, 2012 under PVR Director’s RARE banner. The film, shot entirely in Kashmir, is one of the most keenly awaited Indie films of recent times.
The movie, HARUD (Autumn), which stars award-winning Iranian actor Reza Naji and local actors from Kashmir like Shahnawaz Bhat, Shameem Basharat & Salma Ashai is an attempt to tell a genuine Kashmiri story based on the events of the last twenty years. The protagonists struggle to regain their dignity and in turn their humanity, from the daily violence that they are surrounded by.
The movie has won the Don Quixote Award at Fribourg International Film Festival in 2011 and had its World Premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2010. The film has been screened around the world at renowned international film festivals in Rotterdam, London, San Francisco, Jeonju – South Korea, Fukuoka – Japan, Dubai, Human Rights Film Festival in Melbourne – Australia and Mumbai International Film Festival in India.

The director, Aamir Bashir, says, “Having shown the film all over the world in film festivals and after getting a consistent positive response from a varied audience, I`m delighted that we have got an opportunity to show the film in cinemas in India and would like to thanks PVR’s Director’s Rare for providing us the opportunity to release the movie in India under their banner.”
HARUD, a film on an inside-out perspective of ordinary lives in Kashmir and how people have suffered with violence over the last 22 years, will release on July 27th in PVR cinemas at Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Kolkata, Gurgaon and Chennai through the PVR Director’s Rare banner.
