New Delhi, Oct 28: Condemning the fresh peace package announced by the Vajpayee government, All India Anti-Terrorism Front Chairman M S Bitta today said resuming rail and air links with Pakistan would lead to rise in terrorist activities, infiltration and drug trafficking from across the border.
''The peace initiative taken to woo the Pakistan government with a condition to stop terror activities in the Kashmir valley is a far-fetched idea that needs introspection,'' Mr Bitta said as he led
a demonstration at Jantar Mantar, a kilometre away from Parliament.
''Considering Pakistan's constant terror campaign, it is
difficult to accept that it will stop cross-border terrorism to give shape to India's idea of establishing peace in the strife-torn valley,'' he added.
He said India was a strong nation which should, in fact, take bold steps against Pakistan-sponsored terrorism.
''To end cross-border terrorism, we should bust training camps for terrorists located in Pakistan occupied Kashmir.''
Mr Bitta later submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in this regard.
