Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister arrives today

New Delhi, July 20: As part of the ongoing high-level contacts, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Mohsin Amirzade will arrive here today on a three-day visit which will mainly focus on carrying forward the new momentum in bilateral ties.

New Delhi, July 20: As part of the ongoing high-level contacts, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Mohsin Amirzade will arrive here today on a three-day visit which will mainly focus on carrying forward the new momentum in bilateral ties.
Amirzade will on Monday have wide-ranging discussions
with External Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha on the entire
gamut of Indo-Iranian relations as also exchange views on
important regional and international developments.

An Iranian Embassy spokesman here said the visit was in
continuation of state visit by President Syed Mohammad Khatami
to India in January this year when he was the chief guest of
the Republic Day celebrations, symbolising the strengthening
of Indo-Iranian relationship.

President Khatami and Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee
had signed the path-breaking New Delhi Declaration which puts
forth the vision of strategic partnership between the two
countries for a more stable, secure and prosperous region
and for enhanced regional and global cooperation.

It touched on cooperation in a number of fields including
hydrocarbons, science and technology, information technology,
education and training, reconstruction of Afghanistan and in
tackling the scourge of international terrorism.

The Iranian minister will have interaction with FICCI to
explore propects of increasing economic cooperation in
diversified areas.
