Digras, Jan 31: Nationalist Congress Party leader Sharad Pawar decided not to take part in a rally to be addressed by Congress president Sonia Gandhi here today due to some "prior commitments".
The NCP leader, who was to share the platform with Sonia today, decided to skip the rally since he has to attend some function in his home constituency of Baramati in Pune district.

Organisers of the rally, All India Banjara Seva Sangh, had invited both Pawar and Sonia to attend the rally. The rally was tipped to be the launching pad of joint election campaign for the two parties.

Pawar's decision to skip the rally would have surprised many, especially after he parted ways with P A Sangma over the issue of support to Congress.
