Lucknow, Oct 22: General Secretary of Rashtriya Lok
Dal, an alliance partner in the coalition government in Uttar
Pradesh, today sought immediate withdrawal of party's support
to Mayawati government accusing it of being "anti-farmer" and
opposed to formation of a separate Harit Pradesh.

RLD had extended support to Mayawati government in the
hope that it would resolve the problems of farmers and adopt a
positive attitude on creation of a separate Harit Pradesh out
of western Uttar Pradesh districts, Samarpal Singh told
reporters here.

But the government has failed on both counts. There is
no justification in supporting it as both the BJP and BSP are
opposed to formation of Harit Pradesh, he said.

Singh sought action against two RLD ministers Anuradha
Chaudhary and Kokab Hameed saying both defied party whip and
were absent when the assembly took up the party-sponsored
motion for creation of Harit Pradesh.

Asked if his offensive was a revolt against RLD
leadership, he said he was working in the interest of the
party.
