Thailand is looking forward to suggestions from India with regard to building a small-scale satellite, accoording to director of the Office of Space and Geo-informatics Technology Development Dr Suwit Wiboonseth.
Dr Suwit said that an agreement on space surveys and usage signed between Indian and Thai governments on February one covered a variety of cooperative deals, including surveys of outer space, space science, the use of space technology and the monitoring of space debris in the earth's atmosphere.

"In addition, Prime Minister Thaksin had requested Indian advice on small-scale satellites, as the plans to build a satellite with French assistance were being questioned due to their prohibitive costs," he said.

Dr Suwit said that a bilateral committee is to be set up to discuss the issue shortly.
