After Google, Uber begins testing of its self-driving cars in US

New Delhi: Uber, the ride-sharing leader finally announced that it is going to test its self-driving technology in Pittsburgh, US.
The American multinational online transportation network company made this announcement in a blog post by posting a picture of an all black hybrid Ford Fusions that is fully equipped with a variety of sensor, radars and high-resolution cameras.
The company also confirmed that this technology will drastically reduce the number of deaths caused by road accidents due to human errors, according to the Independent reports.
Pittsburgh’s Mayor, William Peduto welcomed the technological innovation saying that the people of Pittsburgh are excited that Uber has chosen the Steel City for testing its self-driving cars.
“From the first steel mills to the laboratories at Pitt and Carnegie Mellon, Pittsburgh has a long history of innovation. We’re excited that Uber has chosen the Steel City as they explore new technologies that can improve people’s lives – through increased road safety, less congestion, and more efficient and smarter cities,” Peduto said.
