Chandigarh Police have arrested three men for killing a non-resident Indian earlier this year, police said on Saturday.

Chandigarh: Chandigarh Police have arrested three men for killing a non-resident Indian earlier this year, police said on Saturday.

According to the police, Mubarak Hassan was stabbed to death on the night of March 21 here. He was a resident of Saudi Arabia, and was to return in April.

"Hassan was walking on a deserted road with his wife when he was attacked by four men on motorcycles. They tried to snatch his wife`s gold chain. He tried to hit them with a brick, but was stabbed by sharp-edged weapons," said Deputy Superintendent of Police BS Negi.

"We arrested them Friday from Sector 34, and they will be presented in the court today (Saturday). The fourth accused is still at large. All of them are drug addicts and they were planning to go abroad," he added.

The arrested accused were identified as Pardeep Rai, a contractual employee with the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation, Ravi Kumar and Pawan Kumar.
