Man beaten to death for harassing women in Rajasthan village

A 25-year-old man from the tribal Bhil community was beaten to death by villagers in neighbouring Baran district after he allegedly harassed some women of a hamlet in an inebriated condition.

Kota: A 25-year-old man from the tribal Bhil community was beaten to death by villagers in neighbouring Baran district after he allegedly harassed some women of a hamlet in an inebriated condition.

Shyamlal Bheel was rushed to Chipabarode government hospital in a critical condition following the incident in at Saitkolhau village yesterday. He succumbed to injuries during treatment.

Police have booked seven persons, including a woman, under various sections of IPC including Section 302 (murder). However, none of the accused have been arrested so far.

The man's body was handed over to his family yesterday evening after a postmortem, said Brij Prakesh Nama, SHO of Chipabarode police station.

The deceased youth was a habitual drinker and yesterday too he had been heavily drunk since morning, the SHO said, adding that he had been creating disturbance in the village and harassing the local women for the past few days.
