Washington: NASA has a gift for all the space enthusiasts! Now you can have a 3D tour of the International Space Station and experience how astronauts orbit in zero gravity while sitting in front of your computer at home.
NASA has posted a new playlist of 3-D videos on the agency's official YouTube channel, providing a realistic representation of living and working on the International Space Station and other fascinating images from its space programme.
"NASA's imaging experts have advanced the science of imaging technology so that even more breathtaking pictures let viewers virtually experience the phenomenon of spaceflight," the US space agency said in a statement.
Rodney Grubbs, who is the principal investigator for the 3D camera study on orbit said, "Delivering images from these new and exciting locations is how we share our accomplishments with the world.''
NASA first sent a 3D HDTV (high-definition television) camera with the crew of STS-135 on the orbiter Atlantis in July 2011.
And there will be a lot more videos soon as NASA is now planning to send up a camera that could shoot nearly six times the resolution of an HD camera, encouraging the crew to record more video to share with the public.
