New Delhi: With smartphones, drones, automobiles, 3D printing and the internet of things converging to deliver novel high-tech concepts, the 3D technology will transform how consumer electronics are manufactured and consumed, according to Dassault Systemes -- the world leader in 3D design software.
"3D is going to transform how consumer electronics are manufactured and consumed in the coming years. We have been pushing the envelope with respect to 3D implications in various industry verticals such as aerospace and defence, automotive, industrial equipment, hi tech, consumer goods, life sciences, engineering, construction," Chandan Chowdhury, managing director-India, Dassault Systemes, said in a statement.
The multinational which has presence in 140 countries on Friday announced that it will showcase from January 6 to 9 its virtual universe technology at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Nevada, to provide a "glimpse of how innovations will look and behave in the future."
The company will demonstrate its 3D EXPERIENCE universes technology at CES to allow innovators from business, science and a host of other fields to engage in an interactive journey around the theme of 'Dream, Create, Live.'
"We have developed platform and applications which will help in transforming the consumer electronics manufacturing landscape. It is definitely going to set the tone for the endeavours that the company wants to address in the coming years," Chowdhury said.
In the "Dream" area, visitors will experience a 3D application paired with an HTC virtual reality headset, to sketch ideas and bring them to life.
Next, they will explore how companies can "Create" products through demonstrations spanning all steps of product development a" from ideation to design to sales and marketing. Lastly, visitors will see how people can "Live" and consume a 3D experience, from personalising their home, to shopping with 3D technologies or navigating cities of the future, it added.
"Sophisticated data sensors and connected devices are transforming how humans interact with the world around them, and CES is the perfect forum to show businesses, consumers, executives, manufacturers, makers and tinkerers how 3D EXPERIENCE universes are the backbone of this new era of highly social, mobile and connected consumer electronics," said Olivier Ribet, Dassault Systemes' vice president of high-tech industry.
"3D EXPERIENCE universes represent the physical world with stunning realism and open opportunities for design creativity, experimentation and a glimpse of how innovations will look and behave in the future," he added.
Dassault Systemes' 3D EXPERIENCE platform is designed to help innovators with powerful designs, engineering and manufacturing applications to create and quickly adapt to fast evolving high-tech space that is revolutionising the consumer experience.
