Vidya’s love for Bengali is courtesy beau Siddharth

Mumbai: We all know that Vidya Balan loves all things Bengali. From food, to the culture, to its people and even the city Kolkata, Vidya calls herself a ‘wannabong’. So far we have credited her love for everything Bengali to her debut film ‘Bhalo Theko’ and her recent blockbuster ‘Kahaani’. But it appears there are other reasons as well. Vidya’s fondness for Bengalis can also be credited to beau Siddharth Roy Kapoor. Kapoor who is half-bong apparently is connected with Vidya because of the fluency in the language. The much in love couple converse only in Bengali most of the time. Speaking to a daily, a source said, "Vidya has always said that she feels she was a Bengali in her past life. Her affection for the language and the culture isn`t hidden.So it`s obvious that she would talk in Bengali whenever she gets a chance and it helps that Siddharth speaks the same language too." Interestingly, when Siddharth used to visit his lady love on the sets of ‘the Dirty Picture’, they used to converse in Bengali only which made it difficult for everyone around them to comprehend what they were saying. "They even exchange a lot of Bengali music and poetry since Vidya is very interested in Kolkata`s art and culture. It`s also one of the reasons they get along so well," added another source. Does that mean Vidya would take up some film projects in the east as well? Only time will tell.
