Peshawar: Pakistani security forces on Thursday arrested 13 militants, including three commanders, and recovered arms and ammunition from their hideouts during an operation in the restive Khyber tribal region.
The militants were arrested in Bara sub-division of Khyber Agency, a spokesman for the Frontier Corps said. Two of the three commanders arrested were trying to escape the area disguised as women, he said.
Arms and ammunition were also recovered from militant hideouts during the operation, he said.
The Bara region of Khyber Agency is considered a stronghold of the outlawed Lashkar-e-Islam militant group.
