Kuala Lumpur: Three Indians have been
arrested at the international airport here for allegedly
trying to smuggle more than 60 kg of ketamine to Indonesia,
officials said.

The Malaysian Customs Department arrested the trio and
seized the narcotic, worth crores of rupees, at the K L
international airport. The Indian nationals had arrived here
on Tuesday on a Malaysian Airlines flight from Dhaka, en route
to Bali.

The seized ketamine was believed to have been for the
Indonesian market.

Customs assistant director general (enforcement) Md
Hassim Pardi said the men, aged between 25 and 35, arrived at
the terminal carrying boxes containing steel tea containers.

"My men had received a tip-off that they were carrying
illicit drugs in their luggage. The three were arrested while
waiting for their connecting flight," he said, adding that
each suspect was carrying two bags with four tea containers in
them.

Md Hassim said the authorities cut open the bottom of
the containers and found the drug stashed in them. Each of the
12 containers had 5.5kg of ketamine concealed in it.
Local media said this was the second time the three
suspects had entered the country.
