Tripura backward in all fronts, only PM Modi's development model can lead it to progress: Amit Shah

Kumarghat (Tripura): Addressing a rally in Tripura on Sunday, BJP chief Amit Shah criticised the Left government for the lack of development and corruption in the state and said only PM Modi's economic model can lead it to progress.

He asked people to vote for his party in the 2018 assembly polls and so it can usher in development.

"In the 24-year rule of the Left government, Tripura has remained backward on all fronts.

“Only Modi model can develop the state and remove corruption if the party comes to power in next year's assembly elections,” IANS quoted him as saying.

"Rate of development in Tripura is a big zero as the Left government did nothing and central funds were siphoned off.

“CPI-M (Communist Party of India-Marxist) cadres ate the funds meant for development," he said.

He said that a large number of tribals reside in BJP-ruled states like Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra but "every basic facility like water, electricity, and health services” have been provided to them.

He said if his party voted to power, it would first implement the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission for state government employees.

He blamed the Manik Sarkar government for the joblessness, crime against women and corruption in the state.

"Due to the misdeeds of the Left Front government 10,323 government teachers recently lost their jobs following the Supreme Court verdict," he was quoted as saying.
