Members of Awadh royal family support Hazare

An organisation of erstwhile Nawabs of Awadh has extended its support to Anna Hazare`s anti-graft movement and said they would not celebrate Eid to mark their protest.

Lucknow: An organisation of erstwhile Nawabs
of Awadh has extended its support to Anna Hazare`s anti-graft
movement and said they would not celebrate Eid to mark their
protest.

"Around 20,000 members of the royal family of Awadh will
not celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr in support of Anna Hazare," Royal
Family of Awadh (RFA), general secretary Sikoh Azad told
reporters.

"It is our duty to be a part of crusade and not to
celebrate Eid," Sikoh said.

He said that members of royal family would reach Delhi to
take part in Hazare`s fast.

"Jan Lokpal Bill will change the days of royal families
and they will get pension in accordance with present day
inflation," he said, adding that only Rs 22,000 is being
distributed among 1,260 families currently.

The organisation`s general secretary also demanded the
removal of Congress spokesman Manish Tiwari for his remarks
against Hazare.
