Lucknow: In a significant incident showcasing the country's war preparedness, an Indian Air Force (IAF) fighter plane made an emergency landing on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway and took off in a flash on Friday.
The sudden landing of the Indian Air Force aircraft was a part of a trial run to check whether the national highway is feasible for landing in case of any emergency.
Last year, an IAF Mirage 2000 fighter plane had successfully landed on the Yamuna Expressway on May 21, 2015.
The 302-km highway has a 3-km stretch which has been designed as per IAF's standards for emergency landings.
The Expressway is crucial because of its proximity to the national capital.
