New Home Secretary, Information Commissioner in WB

Basudeb Banerjee took over as West Bengal Home Secretary replacing GD Gautama who was sworn in as Information Commissioner.

Kolkata: Basudeb Banerjee, a 1983 batch IAS officer, on Thursday took over as West Bengal Home Secretary replacing GD Gautama who was sworn in as Information Commissioner.
A government notification on the appointment of Banerjee, the Principal Secretary to Commerce and Industry and Information Technology departments, was issued earlier on March 31.
Banerjee would continue to hold his earlier responsibilities.

Gautama was sworn in as Information Commissioner by Governor MK Narayanan at the Raj Bhavan.
