New Delhi: Delhi-based designer Rajdeep Ranawat, who will present traditional, western and resort wear for women Friday at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week 2013 Autumn-Winter, says he has taken inspiration from history and culture of Europe for the ensemble.
Easy to carry light-weight beautiful printed silhouettes -- evening gowns, saris, anarkalis, and short kurtas -- highlight Indian and Western motifs and intricate cutwork. The dresses are perfect for the forthcoming summer-spring season.
"I started working on the collection around four months back. I had gone to Europe because I truly admire its history and culture. I visited museums and clicked pictures of their archaeological finds. I tried to copy it graphically and digitally on the fabrics," said Rajdeep.
"One can see the European prints and motifs printed on the fabrics. I also added Indian touch to it keeping in mind the Indian buyers," added the designer.
He has used fabrics like pure chiffon, georgette, crape, and velvet for the ensemble.
The price range starts from Rs.8,000 for resort wear and Rs.35,000 for saris and anarkalis.
