Man runs over his mother in hit and run case in China

Beijing: In a tragic incident, two elderly women in China were killed by an over-speeding motorcyclist who later realised that one of the victims was his mother.

The man and his son ran over two senior women on the streets due to dim lights and over-speeding in Hubei province.

The boy wanted to pick up one of them, but the man stopped him and ran away from the scene.

The two women, one was seriously injured and another was killed on the spot. The other woman died at the hospital.

Police started the investigation and also put up a poster to track the offender, state-run People's Daily reported.

When the man later found it was his mother whom he ran over, he handed over himself to the police the next day of the accident.
