UK PM Cameron signs Paris attacks book of condolences

British Prime Minister David Cameron expressed "shock, sadness and grief" over the Paris attacks on Tuesday.

London: British Prime Minister David Cameron expressed "shock, sadness and grief" over the Paris attacks on Tuesday when he signed a book of condolences at the French ambassador's residence in London.

Cameron signed the book at the west London mansion flanked by French ambassador Sylvie Bermann while a police officer stood in the corner of the room.

"The people of the United Kingdom stand with the French people in shock, sadness and grief," Cameron wrote.

"We fly the French Tricolour as a symbol of our solidarity because we know our shared values - liberte, egalite, fraternite - will triumph over the evil faced in Paris last week," he added, underlining the word evil.

A series of coordinated gun and bomb attacks killed 129 people and wounded 352 others in the French capital late on Friday. The Islamic State group claimed responsibility.
