New Delhi: In town for the promotion of his latest release ‘Na Ghar Ke Na Ghat Ke’, Bhojpuri film actor Ravi Kishan shared his views on the burgeoning language of the hinterland – Bhojpuri, and expressed the hope that the government would do more to help the industry develop, as it has enough potential to promote employment and impact living standards.
About his role in the new flick, Ravi said, “I play a role of a local don in the film, but the irony is such that nobody gives a damn about me. It basically talks about a man’s journey from village to town in search of a job, and how he gets stuck in the day to day nuances of the city as he tries to cope with the task at hand.”
Evading questions on his role in a reality show, which allegedly spread superstition, the actor simply said, “Well, I was just doing my part. Be it as a participant or an anchor. It’s like a job…everyone does it, so do I.”
Ravi also shared his experience of going through the memories of his past life on a show involving regression. Apparently, he was also the anchor of the programme.
“It was a revelation about my past self, a little threatening, but quite adventurous,” he said.
More than the promotion of his latest film, Ravi sounded excited about his films which are yet to release. The ambitious Mani Ratnam project ‘Ravana’ in which he plays a key role and which also stars the Bachchan couple – Abhishek and Aishwarya!
On the appreciation he has garnered for his role in his last film ‘Luck’, the actor was humble enough to give credit to the makers of the film and said that the canvas of ensemble cast only made it look grander.
Signing off in the hope of government help for the development of the Bhojpuri film industry, the actor said, “It just needs to be tapped well… it has a lot of potential”.
