ITC Bukhara to serve special platter for Barack Obama?

US President Barack Obama, who will be the Guest of Honour at the Republic Day celebrations next week, will be staying at the Grand Presidential suite of ITC Maurya Sheraton.

New Delhi: US President Barack Obama, who will be the Guest of Honour at the Republic Day celebrations tomorrow,  will be staying at the Grand Presidential suite of ITC Maurya Sheraton.

Reports suggest that the entire Sheraton has been reserved for the President.

It has also been learnt that Obama may want to dine at Maurya's signature restaurant `Bukhara`. 

Bukhara's  staff will prepare a special `Obama Platter` in his honour. The meal that will be served to the US President will reportedly include special items on the menu by the kitchen staff.

`Bukhara`  earlier named a culinary platter after Bill Clinton (2000) and Obama (2010) during their respective visits to the capital.

The restaurant has earlier played host to the likes of Clinton, George W Bush and Condoleeza Rice.

The Obama Bukhara Menu in 2010 included tandoori jhinga, reshmi kebab and sikandari raan, murgh boti bukhara, machhli tikka in the non-vegetarian section and tandoori aloo, bukhara, mixed raita and naan amal tandoori salad, dal in the vegetarian portion, and phirni, gulab jamun, kulfi and rasmalai as desserts
