Kolkata: The Trinamool Congress faced some uncomfortable questions, Monday, after one of its active members was found to be a Pakistani spy.
Irshad Ansari, a contract labourer at Garden Reach Ship Builders (involved in building vessels for the Indian Navy) was nabbed along with his son Ashfaq Ansari for allegedly supplying sensitive documents on military installations to the ISI, news channel CNN-IBN reported.

Irshad was an member of INTTUC (TMC's trade union wing). Ashfaq, a Political Science student, was also involved with the TMC and was the general secretary of TMC-led students' union at Kolkata's Harimohan Ghosh College.
The Trinamool Congress has distanced itself from Irshad. The party also said that Ashfaq was suspended from his post last October for anti-party activities.

Ashfaq's maternal uncle Md Jahangir is the third person under arrest in connection with the case. A tailor by profession, Jahangir is, allegedly, an expert in making fake passport.
Reports added that detailed maps of the Calcutta port and Garden Reach shipbuilding unit, along with Rs 3 lakhs in fake currency were recovered from their residences.
