New Delhi: Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Saturday inaugurated PM Narendra Modi's 'Start-up India' movement at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi.

Addressing entrepreneurs, Jaitley said the program will make the government available to them at arm's length.

“Startup India is a program where the government will be at an arm’s length to entrepreneurs,” he said.

He also said the government would be a facilitator for the Start-up campaign with very little or negligible interventions.

Expressing concern over the lack of start-ups in the country, Jaitley said the traffic to the North Block has reduced drastically, referring to the queue of businesspersons.

“We will end license raj for startups”, he said.

He also assured that the government would create an environment for potential entrepreneurs who are world-beaters and.

Also addressing the gathering, Commerce Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that financing in India has become a lot easier now.

The campaign will be launched officially by PM Narendra Modi later in the day.
