Aamir Khan makes Instagram debut on birthday, posts photograph of mother

Mumbai: Aamir Khan, who made his Instagram debut today, posted his mother Zeenat Hussain’s pic to begin a memorable journey on the photo-sharing site. Aamir turned 53 today and his Instagram debut couldn’t have been grander.

The photograph posted by Aamir appears in nine blocks. Here’s how Aamir describes his first post – “The person because of whom I am who I am...(sic).”

In the display pic, we can see Aamir sporting a nose-pin, which is of course a part of his appearance in Thugs of Hindostan, a film co-starring Amitabh Bachchan, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Katrina Kaif.

Aamir already enjoys a huge social media following on Twitter and Facebook and is looking to extend this via Instagram for his fans not only in India but abroad too in markets like China, Turkey, Taiwan and Russia, read a statement.

He currently has a social media reach of more than 37 million users.

Through photo-sharing platform Instagram, Aamir will keep fans abreast of his life and projects.

This year, Aamir will be having a working birthday as shooting for his mega project Thugs of Hindostan is underway in Jodhpur.
