Alia Bhatt turns 24! Let's check out her cinematic journey so far

New Delhi: Bollywood's cutest finds in recent times, director Mahesh Bhatt's darling daughter Alia has surprised the viewers with her versatility in a short span of time. Alia Bhatt made her smashing debut in Karan Johar's 'Student Of The Year' with two other newcomers—Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra in 2012.

Incidentally, all three of them are doing incredibly well in their respective careers. Alia celebrates her birthday today and we can't believe the girl has now finally turned 24! Yes, the 17-looking Alia is now in her 20s. Her journey has been truly amazing with some path-breaking films backing her filmography.

But not many are aware of the fact that Alia's debut happened way back in 1999. Yes! She played the young Reet Oberoi (Preity Zinta) in 'Sangharsh'. It was directed by Tanuja Chandra and Alia played the child artist in the thriller.

After her impressive debut, she starred in Imtiaz Ali's 'Highway' opposite Randeep Hooda. The film helped her in breaking a stereotypical 'glam doll' image of hers. She even went on to win the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress. Then followed her big commercial success with '2 States' and 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania'. Although, she kept getting bigger in terms of her stature, what followed was a not-so 'Shaandaar' film. Her first flop to be precise.

However, she soon was back with a bang in 'Kapoor & Sons'. And her most path-breaking role post 'Highway' came with 'Udta Punjab', a film which not only made everyone take Alia seriously but also fetched her all the big awards that year. She bagged the Filmfare Award for Best Actress.

Besides acting, the young gun of B-Town is also a singer and has lent her vocals to many superhit tracks in films such as 'Samjhawan Unplugged', 'Ikk Kudi (Club Mix)', 'Love You Zindagi' (Club Mix), 'Ae Zindagi Gale Laga Le – 2' and 'Humsafar'.

Alia in Gauri Shinde's 'Dear Zindagi' was a kind of reaffirmation that this girl is going to be a huge success story in coming times. Also, having Shah Rukh Khan as your life coach is nothing less than a dream. Her latest release 'Badrinath Ki Dulhania' opposite Varun Dhawan is already on the verge of becoming a superhit, and we know this is just the beginning.
