Mumbai: Sunny Leone, who has been one of the ambassadors of PeTA - People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals – to create awareness about animal rights- posed nude for their latest campaign along with husband Daniel Weber.

The couple posed for a photograph sans clothes along with a message that reads: ‘Ink, Not Mink! Be Comfortable in Your Own Skin, and Let Animals Keep Theirs.’

The official Twitter handle of PeTa India took to Twitter to share the image.

“Stunning beauty @SunnyLeone and her husband @DanielWeber99 in new PETA campaign promote animal-free fashion. http://petain.vg/31d

Thanks @subisamuel for this beautiful shot. Thanks @hitendra1480 for styling & #TomasMoucka for hair & make-up. (sic).”

PeTA India also shared a video with disturbing visuals that shows how animals are tortured for skin and fur.

"We live in a world with such amazing advances in vegan materials and options for everyone. There is no reason for anyone to support cruelty in any form. Synthetic leather, mock croc, and even faux fur are some of the many great options," Sunny said in a statement.

Daniel said animals and humans should co-exist.

"We need to be a voice for animals and make sure we understand that, without them, there is no us. We must co-exist and learn to respect," he added.

Sunny was named PETA's Person of the Year in 2016 and has also starred in the organisation's pro-vegetarian and dog and cat sterilisation campaigns.

The fashion industry has often drawn ire of animal rights activists for use of fur and animal skin for making clothes, bag and other accessories.

Sunny and Daniel have taken the initiative to create awareness about animal-free fashion to ensure animals aren’t abused.

On the personal front, the couple recently adopted a baby girl and has named her Nisha Kaur Weber. They are enjoying parenthood and making the most of their newly attained status.
