Beware! You may get I-T notice for flaunting your wealth on social media

New Delhi: Income tax department may be keeping a close tab on you in case you take pride in flaunting your wealth on social media platforms.

So, beware if you are planning to post a picture of yours with your latest car or watch or trip to some exotic foreign location on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.

As per a report in Business Standard, Project Insight will be launched in financial year 2017-18. The aim of the project is to gather records of tax evaders through various platforms such as social media.

The project will be all about mining of tax data.

The work on the project has already begun.
