Bengaluru: Producer Shobu Yarlagadda today said he hopes to amicably resolve the dilemma over the release of the multi-lingual film 'Baahubali 2: The Conclusion' in Karnataka which is facing protests over reported controversial remarks of actor Satyaraj who has played a key character in the movie.
"This is a very sensitive issue, and I don't want to comment much on it. The only thing I want to say is - we will resolve the issue amicably in the interest of all concerned," he told PTI in an interview.
Asked if he would hold talks with pro-Kannada activists to resolve the problem, Yaralagadda said, "We have not yet decided the nature of talks. For now, I do not want to offend anybody by giving any statement."
Asked what kind of loss the film will face if the film is not released in Karnataka, Yaralagadda said he didn't really know. "First, we have to resolve the problem." Many pro-Kannada organizations have threatened to launch a stir against the film's release across the state. They have demanded an apology from Satyaraj, who is playing Kattappa in the film, for reportedly making some controversial remarks some years ago on Cauvery dispute.
Asked what he has been hearing from director SS Rajamouli about the film's release, Assistant Director Srinivas Rao said the director will accept Yaralagadda's decision.
He said the director was right now busy with post-production work. Rao wanted to know why the issue was being raked up now.
"Why are they (protestors) raising their voice against the release of Baahubali 2 Is it not a fact that Satyaraj had acted in the first part of the film. They could have protested then, why now It is inappropriate to rake up this issue at this point of time," the assistant director said.
The film is slated for release on April 28.
