Mumbai: Tamil superstar Suriya who began his acting career with thriller ‘Nerruku Ner’ in 1997, took to Twitter Wednesday to thank his fans for their support, love and admiration. He also thanked his followers for all the constructive criticism because it helped him evolve and emerge stronger.

Son of veteran actor Sivakumar, Suriya, who is married to Jyothika wrote:

Suriya has been extremely popular not just for his on screen performances but for his philanthropic efforts too. Suriya’s Agaram Foundation, an educational institution aims at imparting education to deserving students from the rural belt in the state of Tamil Nadu thereby bringing about a positive socio-economic change.

His real name is Saravanan but is popular as Suriya, name suggested by ace filmmaker Mani Ratnam.

Suriya has a number of blockbusters to his credit with the most famous being the ‘Singam’ series.
