Vishwaroopam 2: Kamal Haasan shoots at military academy, says Maa tujhe salaam –See PIC

The actor-director took to Twitter to Thursday to share an image from a military training academy where he shot for the long- delayed Vishwaroopam 2.

Mumbai: Veteran film personality Kamal Haasan, who has been in news for all wrong reasons in the recent past, has resumed shooting for his upcoming film Vishwaroopam 2, a sequel to Vishwaroopam, a spy-thriller, in which he plays a RAW officer.

The actor-director took to Twitter to Thursday to share an image from a military training academy where he shot for the long- delayed aforementioned film.

He tweeted: "Shooting for Vishwaroopam 2 and Hindi Vishwaroop 2. Last stint. Exciting. OTA CHENNAI makes the nation & me proud. The only Academy that trains Lady officers in India. I Salute the ladies and especially my most favourite lady ..India. Maa tuje Salaam (sic)."

The film, which has been delayed over multiple reasons for the past few years now, also features Shekhar Kapur, Rahul Bose and Pooja Kumar.

The movie has been simultaneously shot in Hindi and Tamil. A release date for the same is yet to be announced.

Kamal, who wishes to begin a new innings as a politician, recently expressed solidarity with Deepika Padukone after a fringe group threatened to cut her nose and beheading her for being a part of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati.

Expressing his take on the kind of chaos, the Indian society is witnessing nowadays, Kamal during a discussion at a Lit Fest held recently said, “We are being over sensitive. I am saying so in the capacity of being an Indian. In a country where politicians wanted citizens to come upfront in the past... that doesn't mean I am dismissing off a whole group of people... There are enough Kamals not enough podiums.”

Kamal had also invited trouble by making remarks about terrorism while referring to a particular community.

The Madras High Court last week said that action against him can be taken if he is found guilty. The high court also directed the state's police to register an FIR against actor Kamal Haasan if a cognisable offence is made out against him over his alleged remarks.
