Australia vs India 2016: Steve Smith lauds team's fightback in 4th ODI, eyes 5-0 whitewash

New Delhi: Australian skipper Steve Smith hailed the fightback shown by the team during the 4th ODI match against India at Manuka Oval, Canberra.

The 26-year-old, who contributed 51 runs on Wednesday, took to Twitter to praise the effort of his boys.

Despite putting 348 runs on board batting first, the hosts were looking in a precarious position when Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli added 212 runs for the second wicket.

The dynamic Delhi duo was smashing the bowlers all over the park and had brought the required run-rate, within the reach. However, the 38th over bowled by John Hastings proved to be the turning point of the match when he dismissed Dhawan for 126 and bagged the prized wicket of skipper MS Dhoni three balls later.

It was the start of a massive collapse from the Men in Blue, who lost their last nine wickets for just 46 runs.

Australia now lead the five-match series 4-0 and the final ODI is scheduled to be played at the Sydney Cricket Ground on January 23.
