Was Suresh Raina the missing link in MS Dhoni's arsenal?

New Delhi: After losing four ODI matches on the trot against Australia, MS Dhoni & Co. is looking clueless and jaded at the moment.

Poor bowling and sloppy fielding cost India dearly in the series. Dhoni must be missing a utility all-rounder in Suresh Raina, who could have played blistering knocks in the slog overs, bowled few tight overs and also fielded brilliantly.

But the tried and tested Raina was dropped from the ODI squad as national selectors decided to try few youngsters during the high-profile series.

After a disappointing ODI series, Team India will look to avenge in the three-match T20 series starting January 26.

With a crucial knock in the summit clash of the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy, Uttar Pradesh skipper Suresh Raina has given a clear signal that he is ready to hit the ground running in the forthcoming T20 series Down Under.

Raina's blistering 47-run knock helped his side to post a tricky total of 163 for 7 against Baroda.

Experienced Raina, who has been a specialist player for India in the limited-overs formats of the game, could prove handy against the Aussies.

His last innings against Baroda will certainly give him the much-needed confidence.

In fact, the utility player could turn out to be Dhoni's trump card in the T20 series.
