New Delhi: Hard-hitting Indian opener Virender Sehwag, who retired from international cricket on Tuesday, revealed that the only bowler he was scared of facing was legendary former Sri Lankan tweaker Muttiah Muralitharan.

“I was scared of facing only one bowler, that was Muttiah Muralitharan,” Viru told ANI.

The swashbuckling batsman didn't forget to thank his one-time skipper Sourav Ganguly as he stated: “Ganguly sacrificed his opening spot for me, he loved me and had confidence in me. So, thank you Sourav.”

'Nawab of Najafgarh', who served the country for 12 long years and entertained the cricket fans throughout his career with his explosive batting, looked quite satisfied with his career.

“I am pretty happy with my career. Thanks to all my fans, players who supported me always.”

“My funda was to score on every ball and bowl a bit if I can,” added the 37-year-old while talking about his batting strategy.
