West Indies star Chris Gayle two hits away from 100 sixes in T20I career

New Delhi: Kolkata would be set for something special on Sunday when Chris Gayle comes out to bat against England in the final of the ICC World Twenty20 at the Eden Gardens.

The strong West Indies star cricketer is just two blows away from achieving 100 sixes in T20Is. Gayle has hit 98 sixes in T20Is, which is a record by itself. Two more will see him enter the three-figure club and be the first ever batsman to do it in this format in international scenario.

Retired New Zealand cricketer Brendon McCullum is second highest on the list and has 91 sixes to his name. It will take quite some time for a batsman to near Gayle's feat.

Earlier, Gayle had struck a mammoth 100 off just 47 deliveries against England in the opening tie against England as Windies won the game comfortably.

Eden Gardens will be hoping for a Gayle storm in a subdued scenario plaguing the fans at the moment.

If Gayle gets going, Eden will will be lit up and what an occasion for the man, who can achieve the feat in the final of a mega event. Windies will hope Gayle gives them a solid start upfront.
