London: Pakistani descent England cricketer Moeen Ali has reportedly been rejoicing in the glory of his proudest moment having secured his maiden Test win as an all-rounder.
Ali, who plays for English county cricket club Worcestershire, has admitted that he would happily have given up his 6-67 on the final day at the Ageas Bowl as long as England won the match.
Every time Ali touched the ball in the field he got a raucous cheer from the crowd and it went up a few notches with each wicket he claimed as the all rounder spun England to victory, The Mirror reported.
Ali said that to play for his country and to get the support he has is fantastic, and added that the guys are just cheering one on and it makes one want to perform for them.
Ali said that the crowd has been fantastic, adding that on the first day skipper Alastair Cook was 50 not out at lunchtime and the crowd was unbelievably supportive of him which was nice to see.
The all rounder said that he is extremely proud as it is a great achievement from the lads especially being a young side, and to do it like that and pretty much boss the whole game is great.
Ali said that definitely this is the best moment in an England shirt so far for him. He said that just winning a Test match for England is amazing; even if he did not get the six wickets it would be the best moment.
