New Delhi: The South African team suffered a big blow on Monday as their in-form all-rounder JP Duminy has been ruled out of the on-going ODI series against India due to a hand injury.
Dean Elgar is being drafted in as cover for Duminy in the ODI squad.
Duminy sustained a laceration to his right hand during the third ODI at Rajkot and the 31-year-old need 2-3 weeks to nurse his injury.
South Africa cricket board confirmed the news via its official Twitter account.

According to few media reports Duminy Will stay in India and would make a return in time for the Test series.
South Africa have already pocketed the T20 series on the tour and are leading 2-1 the five-match ODI series.
The fourth match of the series is scheduled to take place on October 22 at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.
