Mukherjee was in charge of the Eden Gardens for over two decades.
In one of the rare incidents, he refused MS Dhoni's request to produce spin-friendly track during England's tour of India in 2012.
His last assignment at the Eden Gardens was for a Twenty20 International between India and South Africa in October last year. The match was called off due to rain and he had a fallout with the CAB after its treasurer Biswarup Dey blamed the curator for the fiasco.
