When Harbhajan Singh led Indian team's 'rebellion' against Sourav Ganguly

New Delhi: Harbhajan Singh is widely regarded as one of the most mischievous characters in the Indian cricket team.

Bhajji has a reputation as a complete prankster, with a growing list of victims.

During his younger days though, the off-spinner did not spare even India's captain Sourav Ganguly.

On the chat show 'What the Duck' with Vikram Sathaye, Bhajji narrated how he once led a rebellion against Dada as part of April Fool's Day joke.

Bhajji and other youngster like Zaheer Khan and Yuvraj Singh printed fake newspaper reports with Ganguly's criticism of them.

The newspaper cutting included reporting of Ganguly claiming the trio was indisciplined and that their focus was on parties and not cricket.

A day before India's match against Pakistan at Kochi, Bhajji and co showed Dada the reports and attacked him.

Ganguly was stunned since he had never made these comments. He even offered to resign as captain in order to cool down the players.

Other seniors like Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar too acted along as they were previously informed about the same by Bhajji.

After dragging the matter for 15-20 minutes, the players finally informed Dada that it was only a prank and he was their first victim.

Bhajji has often stated that Ganguly was the best captain he has played under during his career.

Now CAB president, Ganguly, is credited for having given several youngsters a platform during his tenure.
