Yeh kya kar diya! When Indian players got calls from family, friends after alleged rape arrest reports

New Delhi: After media whipped up a frenzy over the arrest of an Indian player for allegedly raping a Zimbabwean woman, MS Dhoni's boys had a lot of explaining to do to friends and family back home.

The Indian players may now be in a position to have a good laugh at the entire episode, but it definitely wasn't fun when their mobile phones were beeping on Sunday.

Thankfully for the players, their families, BCCI and fans, nobody from the Indian camp had anything to do with the incident.

Before the picture became clear, panic had set in after players returned to the team hotel after watching the movie You Can See Me 2, reports the Indian Express.

“Thank God, it’s sorted now. Some of us didn’t even know something like this had happened. So when we started getting calls from back home, we were shocked,” said an Indian player told the newspaper on the condition of anonymity.

“Some of my friends called me and said, ‘yeh kya kar diya’. I got really angry. It’s very annoying when the media runs such baseless stories without knowing the facts, and the impact it has on us,” said another team member.

While the Men in Blue had no connection with the two accused, they however accepted the fact Satyanarayan was not just present at the ground but also the hotel on several occasions.
